Exporting audio as midi possible?
BBE Sonic Sweet
Hi all. I just purchased BBE Sonic Sweet which is a vst plugin. I have pointed Audition to its folder and have enabled the three plug-ins BUT I don't see them under the effects menu. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Has anyone tried to run Audition 1.5 or 2 or 3 in Win 7 using "XP Mode"?
I own Audition 1.5 and just switched from an XP computer to a 64-bit Windows 7 one. Haven't set up XP mode, but I'm wondering if this would solve the "Device Not Found" problem when trying to burn a CD. Has anyone tried this?
Audition 3.0.1 presets gone
Hi,
I have been using AA3.0.1 for some time, and even though I have had an occassional crash, my effects presets have always been returned without a problem. Recently that is not the case. About 1/2 Adobe and izotope presets just
vanished...some remain, some are gone. I saw the tip to make a copy of the 3.0 folder - rename and restart...but wasn't clear - do I restart from the renamed folder? Also - if this does not work I have another question; Can I just get the xml file and put this in the effects folder? It seems like an obvious question but I did not find this on the forum threads. Thanks for your help.
Kind Regards,
David
Saving Meta Data in a marked session
Can you save meta data (script) in individually marked audio using a marker list? If so, how?
Converting Cassettes to wav and mp3 in Audition= No Sound PC
I am finally cleaning house and converting some of my cassettes to wave or MP3 files, and yes, I still have cassettes.
I was elated when I read on e-how, how-to do it, but sadly, it seems something was missing.
My op system is Windows 7, 64 bit, and the person that built my PC said that he installed the necessary hardware for great recording. I probably have much more than I need, and definitely have much more than I understand.
Well, I ran a line from my cassette deck earphone jack, to the line-in jack in the back of my PC. Audition said to Choose Options> Windows Recording Mixer//I did, and it rejected the command.
I hit play on my Cassette deck, and recorded in Audition anyway—It ended, I saved it—then— No sound.
No sound on my recorded playback, no sound I Tunes, and I even tried YouTube…NADA
I checked drivers, done this and that and scanned forums and tried everything but… System Restore, so I did. Well, four hours of all of those semantics and frustration found that System Restore done the trick.
That was last night.
I had the same thing happen today, so I figured I had better pick-the brains of the Gifted Minds in this forum to find a permanent solution.
Please help, and I thank you.

"SharedControls.dll" file missing; AA 3.0 won't run.
Hi, all. Thanks for any help. Adobe had a breach, I had to reauthorize and then reinstall, and their support cannot solve this. I have repeatedly tried to download and reinstall, but I'm stopped by this file apparently missing.
Sound Card: 64-bit Win7 and Audition 3?
Audition doesn't like the sound subsystem that's part of my computer's motherboard. I'd really like to avoid Creative Labs if I can because the company's support (never good in the past) seems to have hit new lows. So today I spent more than 2 hours researching sound cards, their compatibility with 64-bit versions of Windows 7, and whether they work with Audition.
The results have been "inconclusive".
I'm running Windows 7 (64-bit) with 8GB of RAM on an Intel DP55WB motherboard. As I said, the built-in sound system is useless as far as Audition is concerned. I can edit in Audition, but recording is out of the question. Apparently there's no ASIO driver, but the problems appear to be deeper than that.
What I'm looking for is some suggestions for sound cards. My needs are relatively modest: I have an analog microphone that I need to use for recordings and that's about it. Front-panel connections would be great, but apparently only Creative Labs does this. If the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty is the best fit, I'll swallow my pride and buy one. But the reviews I've seen talk about Creative's non-support department, lousy internal connections, and lots of problems with the hardware.
Overall goal: Something that just works.
If you have a suggestion, I'd love to hear it!

Adobe Audition not saving Meta Data
I'm trying to save file information within an mp3 or wav file for our broadcast software (AudioVault) to read it and the information does not save.
We use versions 1.5 and Version 3 and they both exhibit the same behavior.
I have followed the info below but it doesn't work.
The File Info command opens a dialog box in which you can see and add metadata—descriptive information that a computer can process and search—about the open audio file. For example, metadata can include history, loop, and Broadcast Wave information.
For audio files in WAV, mp3, or CEL format, you can use the File > XMP Info command to add XMP metadata. This extensive metadata can be shared across databases, file formats, and platforms. (See Add or edit XMP metadata.)
- 1. In Edit View, choose File > File Info.
- 2. Click the tabs at the top of the dialog box to navigate between different sets of properties.
- 3. Set properties as desired, and click OK.
To preserve file information when you save files, select Save Extra Non‑Audio Information in the Save dialog box.
It is not saving the start and end date. Here's what I'm doing. Open mp3 file. File-File Info, toggle text field names to Radio Industry.
Fill out Description, Advertiser, start date, end date, click ok. click file, save as (clicking save extra audio infomation)
now close the file and reopen it and the start and end date are gone. Ideas?
Audition 3.0.1 freezes sometimes opening Cool Edit sessions
Audition 3.0.1 - I'm working with some old sessions that I did in Cool Edit, and opening them in 3.0.1 and working on file types before converting them to .sesx files. The problem is that sometimes 3.0.1 can't open the session - it gets 95% of the way through loading it and then hangs ('Audition is not responding' says Task Manager).
Anyone recognize this? And, of course, is there a fix?
Audition 1.5 or 3.0
Is Adobe Audition 1.5 or 3.0 compatible with windows 8.1?
Wndows 7
Will Auditon 1.5 run under Windows 7? Any problems?
No audio over speakers in Multitrack
My PC died, so I got a new one and re-installed Audition 3.0. I can hear audio just fine over my computer speakers in Edit mode, but in Multitrack, I can't hear a thing. I have checked the Audio Hardware settings and they seem to be fine (though I can't read all the way to the end of the listed hardware). Only one option is available, and it's the one I have defaulted in the Control Panel sound seettings. And, like I say, I hear everything without a problem in Edit mode. I know the audio is playing correctly in Multitrack, since I can see the levels bouncing around as they should. Any ideas?
ASIO drivers? wtf?
I'm having fits with Audition 3.0. I just received a computer with a heavy duty media card (Soundtek) it's a HD device and there are a lot of game ports on this computer ( dirves E-I) and I'm sure it plays wonderful games, but when I go to record in Audition 3, it says that I need an ASIO driver. As it is, I get track latency that I cannot reconcile with my present sound card.
I have used Audition in the past. On my original edition (Audition or Cool Edit Pro 2000) I had a button that I checked that allowed me to compensate for the latency. I'm not new to the overall product. I have used Audition 1.5 and 2.0 in the past as well. Unfortunately that computer is no longer with us and I'm trying to get this new one ready to go.
Should I go out and buy a cheap Audioblater ASIO sound card and replace the High Def media card? Seems counterproductive but I'm wiling to do it if it allows me to record without the latency.
Windows 7 audio device issue
Hi there,
I have a new Sony Vaio laptop with windows 7 installed and after installing Audition 3, I get the following message when I want to start the program:
'Adobe Audition could not find a supported audio device'. So I can't if only start Audition.
After spending several hours on the net looking for a fix and tried some Vista SP1 patches, having failed miserably, here I am asking for your enlightened input.
My sound card is a ATI HDMI Audio from Realtek, CPU is intel Cor 2 Duo T6600 @ 2.20 ghz, 4 gig Mem and 500 gig HD.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits.
All my drivers are up to date.
Any useful & efficient advice?
Regards
John
Audition 3.0 skips when multitracking
Hi I wonder if anyone can help with this problem..
I have been using Audition since 1.5 and have grown fond of it, recently I aquired Audition 3, I am currently in the process of setting a studio and plan on mutitracking bands, I will also be going into live band recording, I have just purchased a new laptop which has a 6GB RAM and a quad 1.73GHz (8 x 1.73 GHz) i7 processor, I beleived this to more than enough to run Audition 3 with no hassles but it seems I may have been wrong???
I was testing the combination out last night using a single USB condenser to mic up my band room, this mic recorded the entire band wonderfully on one track and captured all the instruments perfectly, each song was recorded on a seperate track but by the fourth track my recordings started skipping and jumping around, some even have silent breaks in the middle of a song and others literally pause for a few seconds before carrying on recording??
Is this a problem with my system or with Audition? I am using Asio4All with Adobe, I am seriously worried about this problem as I have just spent a fortune upgrading my computer from the old one which I thought was jumping around simply because it was not fast enough, seems that was not the problem.
If this is what happens with 1 mic recording a band, what will happen when I multitrack drums and all instruments for a single song?
Is there a setting on my pc and/or Audition that could rectify this issue or should I move over to a different more stable program like Cubase or Sonar?
Can I record audio off my PC?
Hi,
I'm using Audition 2.0 and a PreSonus Firestudio Mobile. Curious to know if I can record sound off the computer. For example, if I was watching a funny youtube video and decided I wanted the audio, could I record it? I have tried that once or twice and not picked up any sound, so I'm wondering if there's a setting I need to adjust in audition or if that's not possible to do.
where can I buy and download a legal copy of Audition 3.01?
I can't find it on this Adobe site. Everthing I search on this site, or get sent to from a google search, sends me to the new CS5.5 or whatever new software. I don't want all that, and too many functions have been discontinued. I just want audio, having used CooEdit Pro and other Audition versions with previous computers. I'm now returning to audio work. I can't find anything about buying v. 3 here. On google searches, I find plenty of places that claim to be selling 3, but I doubt the legitimacy of them. They're weird sites trying to shove other software at me. Amazon says v. 3 is no longer in stock. Can someone tell me where I can legimately buy and download 3--and get any updates? I have Vista 32 and meet the system requirements for 3. Thanks.
Anyone ever get "Audition could not find a supported audio device!" message?
When I try to start Audition 3.0 I get this message "Adobe Audition could not find a supported audio device. Please check your device settings." All of my system sounds and sounds from other programs work fine! This seemed to happen after a recent Windows or McAfee update as no other programs have been installed. I have also tried to "repair" Audition, when I run the repair it says that " The wizard was interupted before Adobe Audition 3.0 could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. to complete installation at another time, please run set up again."
I have tried to reboot the computer several times and still have this happening! I am running Windows XP SP3. I can use system restore to go back before the update and get Audition to load. After the computer updates again, I am right back here the next time I try to start Audition. I know why not turn off your updates? Well, I do want the security and anti-virus updates...
I do not see any problems in device manager and all my system sounds are working along with sounds from other programs, web, etc. I just do not understand why after the updates and why the repair keeps getting stopped?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
