I know about the Release ASIO Driver in background button, but this is not the issue.
Sometimes I use several open versions of Adobe Audition 3 and when more than one is open, the audio recording and playback stops when clicking on another open window or away from Audition 3 currently running.
Anyone else experience? What can be done besides only having one verison open at a time?

under registry local machine ->software -> Prefs -> 0
installed the patch 3.0.1
the registry key is the same , but it did mess up audition language , something is in english and other things are in italian
for example
file,edit,view,option ,window are in english
efects are in italian,generate is in italian
windows 7 32bit
i download the amplitude statics , because in the adobe is an update
in short for audition 3 there are 2 updates amplidute stastics and the patch , right?
how can i fix it?

Hi folks, I have a small strange problem. After I add a certain number of VSTs to a project, I can't see the GUI of the VST anymore. It's there, and working, but I can't edit any parameters because I can't see them anymore. Anyone with this problem and why it happens?
It seems to be worst with new Waves plugins (I have Gold bundle) but it's general with any VST. Strangely, it doesn't happen with DirectX plugins at all.
Lenovo laptop, i5, using firepod.
I've tried several midi controller keyboards, both USB and din 5 pin, and I cannot get any of them to trigger notes with VSTi's. I see references to a third button in the sequencer that looks like a bulleted text list in the upper-right-hand corner of the screen. The Audition documentation refers to this button also. (It looks like it should be just to the right of the jigsaw puzzle "VSTi Plugin Manager" button.) I don't have this button on my AA3. The buttons that are supposed to be next to the virtual keyboard (both the jigsaw puzzle piece and bulleted list) simply aren't there. Its not a panel size issue, because I undocked the panel and resized it length-wise across all three of my HD monitors and the buttons never show up. Also, I know Audition sees my controller because I can use it to trigger commands, but it won't trigger any notes from the VSTi. The virtual keyboard does, however. And I do have live monitoring turned on.
Where can I get support for Audition 3.0?
Audition 3.0 shuts down when launched; get error message "To continue working where you left off, please restart Audition". I tried rebooting my computer, but Audition still does not launch. Also, I can open a .wav file with Audition and it opens in edit mode. But I can't launch Audition from the icon and can't get into multitrack mode nor open a session file. Running on Windows 7.
I use Audition 3.0, and had to buy a new computer (Dell XPS 8700). Audition 3.0 does not recognize the internal sound card for recording, but does playback files & appears to be otherwise functional. Do I need to get an external sound card? And if so, can anyone make any recommendations on brands & model types? Also, is there a primer for installing and set up?
After a disk failure and reinstall of OS with upgrade from WIN7home to pro, my audition 3.o said it wasn't activated. Was directed to site to download versions that didn't need activation. There are two there. Was told to download and install both. But no one could tell me what sequence to install them in. Files are ADBEAudition_ESD1_WWEFGJIS.exe, ADBEAudtion_loopology.exe. On closer view, there are three files but one of them was a 7z zip type file. Support didn't seem to realize that. Am guessing the file ending in JIS is the application and that the loopology flle is an add-on of some kind. Any ideas?

Audition 3.0.1 - I'm working with some old sessions that I did in Cool Edit, and opening them in 3.0.1 and working on file types before converting them to .sesx files. The problem is that sometimes 3.0.1 can't open the session - it gets 95% of the way through loading it and then hangs ('Audition is not responding' says Task Manager).
Anyone recognize this? And, of course, is there a fix?
I'm editing slide audio in Captivate but when I click the Adobe Audition button, Captivate can't find Audition. Audition is a recent install and I'm wondering if another step is required in order to make the two communicate. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Cutting and deleting buttons not active will not function
Hi! I'm searching a way to change a length of the several audio files at the same time (this applies to ads that will be broadcast at the radio. The sounds need to have same time accurate to milliseconds). Let's say I've got 20 audio ads, which were originally meant to have 30 seconds, but each of audio file has small differences reaching less than a second. I would like to do a one-off activity, that will change length of each file to equal 30.000 seconds. In a word, is there a way to stretch several audio files, which have different time, to the same length at a same time ?
Hi, I have Adobe Audition 3 and I would like to split one big MP3 file (an album) into separata tracks (and save it as separate MP3 files).
How can I do this the fastest/least tedious way?
And will the MP3 be preserved or will it encode it again (I don't want that).

Migrating form 1.5 To 3.0 I find my Dynamics Processing Custom Settings don't work properly...the thresholds seem to have no effect. I have several customs settings which I've used for years in 1.5 which I duplicated in 3.0 which compress at a ratio 4 to 1 below -8 DB or -12 db as examples but it seems to compress everything equally regardless of level so the net effect is only to reduce the overall level...there is no selective compression with respect to volume levels. Sounds crazy but I've checked these settings over and over and I just can't get it to work like it did in 1.5 and yes...I've checked all the pages in the setting dialogs and have Peak selected, overall gain is set the same and attack and release times are the same.
What am I missing?

When I click on a file to edit it, initially that file appears in waveform edit view mode and then andter a second or two it flips to spectral frequency display.
It is easly enough to Shif+W to get it back to waveform display, but why does it do this? and more's to the point how do I stop it from flipping to spectral freq disp?
I would like the default view in edit mode to be waveform.
Can you help, please?

Suddenly, I Just Started Getting "You may be saving to a compressed (lossy) format. Be sure to keep a backup of your original file if you wish to preserve full audio fidelity.." message. Yes, I DO want to preserve full audio fidelity as part of my work! I do voice-over recording and I only used to get this message when I forgot to delete something in my original .wav recording and edited my saved converted Mp3 file from the original .WAV file and attempted to save it. Currently, my pre-recording step-by-step process is to open a "New" Adobe 3.0.1, file, and when a waveform window appears, I select audio settings of 32-bit float, 48,000 sample rate, and, when I go to name and save the file, then I select .WAV for the recording format. Historically, I would record my voice-over audition and, if I made any edits along the way, I would hit "save" and the edit would be saved without any other window prompts, etc. NOW, when I do any edit, suddenly this "You may be saving to a compressed (lossy) format" window message appears -- which is very frustrating. I'm wondering if I had mistakenly changed settings? Has Adobe changed something along the way? What's going on here? Help! BTW....I'm very mad that Adobe has no phone support for my Adobe Audition product and I'm just referred to this Forum as the last resort. Thank you - anybody - for any help you can provide.
i have to reinstall audition as i have a new computer (computer crash). i have retrieved my serial # but it says its invalid.....how do i get a valid serial # ????
also - i sat on help line for 2 hours twice with iut help and i have submitted 2 tickets without a rely, i have also waited on chat for over 2 hours 3x without a response.

Is there a technique in Audition 3.0 or a plug-in which allows you to isolate and remove repetitive clicks such as those caused hairline cracks on 78 and 45 rpm records? I know how to do it one click at a time by highlight and delete. Restoration > Automatic Click Remover (VST Plug In) does not do the job very well. Neither does Restoration>Click/Pop Eliminator (Process). Both of these seem to take an amplitude approach to the problem. I would think that the software would make it possible to isolate the time domain of the repetitive event, but I don't see the functionality to support the approach of removing a fixed duration of signal, at a regular interval in the source file.
Hadn't been able to do any recording most of the year so it was only recently I found I couldn't access Resource Central anymore for foley effects. I did find where I could download some of the free music scores that used to be there on this site so I got those. The sound effects library was what I used most, however and I can't seem to find a download for any part of it anywhere. Does anyone know if there's somewhere around here I might be overlooking? Or perhaps someone could point me where I can find a similar library to purchase and download? Buy on CD maybe? I do not like this "Creative Cloud" thing at all. I have Soundbooth and I enjoyed having everything in one program, all paid for...in one payment. This new monthly subscription thing is really unfair. Now I would have to pay more money just to have access to that part again. Any info or advice will be much appreciated.
