Cannot arm a track for recording when ASIO driver selected: Audition 3.0

$

I was able to record when I had my Realtek driver selected. I subsequently downloaded and installed ASIO4ALL after reading notification that popped up on Audition recommending ASIO drivers, then selected the ASIO driver within Audition's 'Audio Hardware Setup' section. Since then, I have been unable to arm any track for recording.

Before downloading the ASIO4ALL driver, I tried to ascertain whether I already had an ASIO driver native to the Realtek soundcard, but could find nothing.

I have to admit, I have no idea about soundcards etc. Maybe it's not as simple as just downloading and installing the ASIO4ALL driver and assuming it will work. Maybe the ASIO4ALL driver is not compatible with my Realtek soundcard?? Maybe a lotta thangs...!

Anyway, if someone savvy could clue me into what might be going wrong, would be appreciative. I'm running Win 7 Home Premium (64bit).

Cheers
Ross

Audition 1.5 or 3.0

Is Adobe Audition 1.5 or 3.0 compatible with windows 8.1?

Adobe audition could not find a supported audio device. Please check your device settings.

After install adobe audition 3.0 version (Legency version downloaded from official website), it can't start normally, a dialog shows the information as title and the application shut down automatically after click OK button.

AA3 Cannot start: error message: "AA could not find a supported audio device. Please check device settings"

When I try to start Adobe Audition 3.0 I get:

"Adobe Audition could not find a supported audio device. Please check device settings"

Then it shuts down.

Running XP/SP3

I'm using an M-Audio 1010LT card with current drivers

Device settings are OK..

It is properly installed and checks out in control pane/system/devices and sound and control panel/ audio devices.

I installed a trial version of AA CS6 (V5) and it works fine with this card but it is useless since it can't load the ASIO driver.

I even downloaded ASIOforall and installed it and configured it -  it recognized the M-audio card instantly but CS6 still

couldn't find the ASIO driver

.

But the problem I'm trying to solve deals with Audition v3.

From the little I've used CS6 I much prefer V3 - which used to work fine.

BTW the card also works fine in Winamp and Vegas Pro.

So the problem seems to lie with Adobe.

I've seen this problem (could not find a supported audio device) discussed elsewhere but haven't found a solution.

What can be done to fix this?

Thanx

PT

I Uninstalled Adobe Audition 3.0 and can't install it back

The R Button is not Red? Cannot arm a track for recording?

I am trying to record a song for my band, and Audition is apparently not working. In Adobe Audition 3.0 The R Button will not go red, and every time I want to record something, it tells me to set the audio device and arm a track for recording. How do I set my audio device?

Also, when I want to record, occasionally I get this error:

Invalid ASIO Input

!The selected input port or ASIO driver is invalid. Please change your settings in the Audio Hardware Setup dialog.

Is there something with my audio driver or my recording device? Should I update it? I hope I don't need to reinstall my computer all over again. What should I do to solve this problem? Please help me. I am worried we cannot do our band due to no recording device.

Thank you.

Can I record audio off my PC?

Hi,

I'm using Audition 2.0 and a PreSonus Firestudio Mobile.  Curious to know if I can record sound off the computer.  For example, if I was watching a funny youtube video and decided I wanted the audio, could I record it?  I have tried that once or twice and not picked up any sound, so I'm wondering if there's a setting I need to adjust in audition or if that's not possible to do.

Adobe Audition 3.0 "Audio Hardware Settings" for USB Audio Interface HELP!

Hi guys.

I’m after some help in the internal settings of Adobe Audition 3.0 whilst I’m trying to run my condenser mic through my ART USB Dual Pre.

I have the USB Dual Pre all set up in my Windows 7 set up (it automatically becomes the default recording device when it’s plugged in), phantom power enabled, XLR cable plugged into the right socket of the two available (is there any difference? I’m just recording voice tracking for radio announcements), headphones plugged into the monitoring jack at the back. Levels are turned up enough that they will pick up the noise, if there was any.

I go to the “edit” tab in Adobe Audition 3.0, hit record and nothing comes up. I’m not getting any sound at all registered on the computer. I’ve downloaded and installed Asio4All, but can’t for the life of me figure out the configuration within the “Edit > Audio Hardware Setup” to make the damn thing pick up my voice. There’s mention of Audio Drivers (Asio4All or Audition 3.0 Windows Sound), USB Audio Codecs, Input/Output… it’s enough to make a man who’s not very good at this sort of thing cry (ie. Me).

Could anybody help a body out, please? I think I’ve done everything right except the configuration within Audition itself. A helping hand would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks so much!

My old copy of Audition 3.0 will not run. Prompting me to reactivate it. Sadly, the online and phone methods do not work. After a lengthy chat with customer service, no solution surfaced other than to post it here. The only thing that it will allow me to enter is an Authorization Code, which customer service could not help me with. Any ideas on how to make it work again?

Audition 1.5 adds or alters file extensions

$

I work for a radio station so several people use Adobe Audition 1.5, including interns who have little to any previous experience with it.  When files are saved, I tell them to save everything as an .mp3; also, most everything that's saved has the date in the file name (as in 2-15ComedyClub.mp3 or McDonalds2-20.mp3).

Occassionally, however, someone accidentally mistypes and uses a period with the date instead of a dash, which will cause the computer to think it's a file extension; i.e. saving the file McDonalds2.20.mp3 instead of McDonalds2-20.mp3.

In doing that, this changes the "files of type" section when you're trying to save a file.  Normally, in that "files of type" section, you'd see mp3PRO (FhG) (*.mp3) if you wanted to save an mp3 and Windows PCM (*.wav) if you want so save as a wav, etc. However, when the file name is saved incorrectly, the new "extension" shows up. Using the current example of McDonalds2.20.mp3, If i go to save a file, under the save drop-down menu, in the "files of type" section, I'd see mp3PRO (FhG) (*.20.mp3, *.mp3) as the file type. And then when a new file is saved, the extension is .20.mp3.

How on earth do I fix this? (Besides the obvious, don't save things as the incorrect file name/extension)

Thanks!

Mixing and Exporting separate files from multitrack session

$

Hi,

Is there any solution for radio producers, to export from Audtion 3.0 separate files. For example i've got a few parts of radio program in one session - each one consists a HeadIn, Loop, voicetack and HeadOut (arrangedon differenttracks}. Now, I don't want to select one by one and export - I wan't to export everything in that session as mixed, separate files at one go.

Is it possible?

Thanks in advancefor your answer.

Audition 3.0/3.0.1 overriding hardware sample rate set in MOTU

$

I am a long time user of Audition from the CEP days.  Just upgraded from Au 1.5 to 3.0.  I use a MOTU 828mk2 interface.  For me, always a reliable pairing with CEP 2.1, Au 1.0 and 1.5.  With the upgrade, I'm finding that Au 3.0 keeps overriding the sample rate set in the MOTU driver applet, from 44.1khz to 48khz.  I've tried resetting the preference in the MOTU app, as well as setting within Audition, i.e., pulling up the hardware interface using the Control Panel button within Edit>>Audio Hardware Setup.  The selected driver is MOTU Audio ASIO.  In either case, whenever I go back to the Audio Hardware Setup, it has changed back to 48khz.  I see this change occur on the MOTU front panel sample rate indicator as well.  Anybody run into this with MOTU or other hardware?  I've also loaded the 3.0.1 patch, even though this problem isn't listed in the Bugfix.  Didn't solve it.  Advice appreciated.  Apologies if this has been covered.  I tried searching on 'hardware sample rate change' and similar permutations, but that kept bringing up basic info on setting hardware, sample rate defs, etc.  Thanks.
